Créer is not technically a rental studio, but we do provide limited rentals to creatives that need a space in the Philadelphia area that are looking for a professional, respectful and clean aesthetic. We also try to work with local universities and students to provide an atmosphere for affordable studio space, as well as affordable workshops through out the year with other noted professionals in the industry. We will post dates for any events as they come up.

We have various grip and lighting gear available for rent (Please call ahead for pricing and to ensure availability). If you need to book for e-commerce, editorial, fashion, or portrait work our studio can accommodate your needs. We have a 12'x12' cyc wall and multiple seamless paper backdrops.

The Surrounding Area, Things to Do

We are within walking distance to lots of Philadelphia attractions. We are a 5-10 minute walk from Philadelphia's extremely popular Passyunk Ave which houses many restaurants and cafes to satisfy any thirst or appetite you might have. Passyunk Ave has been gaining notoriety fast and fierce with restaurants popping up, what seems like every month, giving it the well suited title, "Restaurant Row".  Of course if you're looking the Philly "staple", the cheese steak, we are also just about a 10 minute walk to the famous Pat's or Genos Steaks as well. We wont get into who in Philly has the best cheese steak, we'll leave that up to you. (We're not implying it's between those two either, just saying)  If you feel like doing some of the required tourist duties while visiting the studio, we are a short cab ride from the Philadelphia Art Museum (You know, the "Rocky Steps"), the Liberty Bell, and other attractions like the Mutter Museum, if you're up for some creepiness, Spruce Harbor Park, and Old City Philly which is home to the Betsy Ross house and many incredible art galleries like Arch Enemy Arts

If you're not sure about something, just ask us and we'll point you in the right direction.

About The Building

Bok is a commercial property located in South Philadelphia (equidistant between Center City, the Navy Yard and University City) and home to a thriving and growing community of innovators, businesses, entrepreneurs and creatives.

A historic vocational school closed by the School District of Philadelphia in 2013, we are working to lovingly restore the building into a new, richly layered and constantly evolving center for creatives, small-businesses, non-profits, small-batch manufacturers and beyond. The project takes stock of the existing infrastructure (wood shops, culinary training kitchens, science labs and classrooms) to enable activity and affordability to create a revived place of making, training, learning and job creation in South Philly.

Today nearly 26,000 square feet within the building is filled with jewelers, architects, furniture makers, fashion designers, milliners, product designers, artists, charitable organizations, a day care and even a local boxing club in the previously empty classrooms. Nearly 80% of our current tenants are residents of South Philly.

The scale of the building - 340,000 square feet and an entire city block - means there is an opportunity for continued growth and the ability to accommodate a wide diversity and variety of users in spaces ranging from 200 to 25,000 square feet.

This a multi-phased project intended to evolve over time and therefore we are interested in how both the temporal and the permanent contribute to the building's evolution.

We seek to apply a nimble and thoughtful multi-disciplinary development approach to drive the building's revitalization through a careful balance that considers commercial viability, impactful community engagement, and long-term outcomes.

Bok is the recipient of the The 2016 Young Friends of the Preservation Alliance Award for the project's approach to adaptive re-use of a historic building.
